It was at Mount Carmel that the prophet Elijah challenged Israel to decide who they would follow – the Lord God or (the idol god) Baal.

When put to the test, Baal, the idol god, did not respond to the prayers, pleadings, and petitions of its prophets.

However, when Elijah poured water on and around a sacrificial bull placed upon a stone altar and then called upon God, God answered by sending down fire which consumed the sacrifice, the altar, and the water that surrounded the altar, proving that He was the only True and Living God.

At New Mt. Carmel Ministries COGIC, God is still sending down fire from heaven, and proving that He is still God!

I Kings 18: 20 – 21, 37 – 39

20  So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

21  And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD [be] God, follow him: but if Baal, [then] follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

37  Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou [art] the LORD God, and [that] thou hast turned their heart back again.

38  Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that [was] in the trench.

39  And when all the people saw [it], they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he [is] the God; the LORD, he [is] the God.

Acts 1:1-4  KJV

1  The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

2  Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

3  To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4  And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.

Just as Jesus showed Himself to His apostles after He was resurrected, He is still showing Himself alive these days by many infallible proofs as, through His Word, He still speaks of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, and still commands us to wait for the promise of the Father.
